Believe God’s word.

“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” Matthew 6:36

God is our loving heavenly Father. We can trust Him to provide for our needs and we can ask Him to give us creative ideas as we try to stretch what we have and bless those we love.

Obey God’s word.

“He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much.” Luke 16:10

When it comes to saving money and making money the little things make all the difference. Don’t scoff at the “little things” in your life. God says they are important.  Watch your food budget! Save your pennies!  A dollar or two spent here and there adds up to much.

Be grateful.
“In everything give thanks for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thess 5: 18

It’s hard to live more simply or change a habit when you are feeling sorry for yourself and want what your neighbor has. Instead, look at those who have far less than you.  Can you read? Then you’re better off than most of the world!

Give unto others.

“Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Cor 12:9

Do it for Jesus and be blessed.

Save with a purpose.

“She prepares her food in the summer and gathers her provision in the harvest.” Proverbs 6:9

A savings account will not last long unless you remind yourself of the purpose for which you are saving. Four hundred dollars may represent a used crib and next years insurance payment. Put a name on your savings and if God blesses you with more ask Him if there is someone who needs it more than you do.
