Planting something, sleeping outside, bar-b-ques, porch sitting, laying in the sun, listening to birds singing, waking up early to sunshine through the window, salads, bike riding, sandals, camping and campfires, water fights and swimming, air conditioning after sweltering heat, the smell of freshly-mown grass, parades, the summer reading program at the library, the sound of ice in glasses of tea or lemonaide, the smell of fireworks on the Fourth of July and sunshine.
“Then followed that beautiful season… Summer….
Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light; and the landscape
Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood.”
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
