She is us. She has been single so long she wonders if she will ever get married. She pictures in her minds eye the children that she has longed for, for years.
She is us. She has lived and loved and raised a family with her husband and, suddenly, the Lord took him. She wishes she had done more. She has regrets.
God promises that those who seek Him will find Him. Why, then, do we ache with emptiness?
Let’s begin with truth…not what we feel but with truth.
He loves us. This is true. Even when those who are supposed to love us most on this earth fail us, God never fails. In Him there is no darkness. In Him there is no rejection.
The hard part of living lonely is waiting in the dark by faith. God promises to be with us and His word is true, but, we want to feel loved and wanted. God says live and serve and minister anyway.
We want to laugh and cry and be hugged and loved by others. God says reach out and love others anyway.
Sometimes we only have strength for one act of faith; one simple gesture that says, I will believe God even when I feel unloved.
Ask Him to show you the way out of your lonely darkness.
Begin to serve others; through a simple prayer, a kind note, a sweet act of service.
Count the ways that God has already blessed you in your life. Remember His ways!
Don’t give in to the wiles of the devil and let a root of bitterness grow up!
Everybody experiences loneliness.
Find ways to bless others.
Give generously, the Lord loves a cheerful giver.
Hallow His name (worship God)
In everything give thanks!
Just do it.
Love the Lord Your God.
Make time for reading His word.
Never allow bitterness to take over.
Offer God what you have, even if it is very little.
Prepare to be blessed.
Questioning God is not wrong, just take the questions to Him.
Remember the good things God has done.
Sing praises to Him!
Turn your eyes upon Jesus.
Use what you have to bless others.
Vibrant joy comes from obedience even when you don’t feel like it.
Wait upon Him.
Xtra ordinary people choose to forget themselves and be interested in others.
You are loved by God!
Zest for living is possible.
“Christ is building His kingdom with earth’s broken things.
Men want only the strong, the successful, the victorious, the unbroken, in building their kingdoms; but God is the God of the unsuccessful, of those who have failed.
Heaven is filling with earth’s broken lives, and there is no bruised reed that Christ cannot take and restore to glorious blessedness and beauty.
He can take the life crushed by pain or sorrow and make it into a harp whose music shall be all praise. He can lift earth’s saddest failure up to heaven’s glory.”
